CalDave

I have been thinking a lot about agentic AI and what tools can agents use. There's a very cool tool called AgentMail which gives agents inboxes.

I was thinking about what else they could use, and then randomly today saw a request on the Y Combinator forum asking if anyone had created "AgentMail but for Calendars."

I felt inspired — I have been hacking on calendars recently and also mulling what tool could I build for agents — and so, CalDave was built

I chose the name because CalDav is the standard calendar format (and its awful, by the way) and I thought it was a funny HAL-9000 reference.

The product is somewhat simple — you can create calendars for agents. There is a robust MCP and an API.

One of the fun things is that I created an inbound email server so any calendar gets an email address like moof@invite.caldave.ai and so you simply send that email calendar invites and they'll get accepted and added to the agents calendar.

The primary use case for this is to then have an agent (eg: OpenClaw) access this calendar periodically and perform tasks. So you could tell the agent to access the calendar and run the prompt within the event details. That may be "join and record this call" or "send me a weather update" etc.

I think there is a lot of versatility to be had here and I am excited to keep iterating. I am excited for this to become a micro Saas!
